Week 1 - Weigh In Day

So, I have some good news and it has to do with the scale!

This morning I weighed in at 252.8 lbs.

I lost 9.2 lbs. for my first week doing Weight Watchers Freestyle.

I feel great!

I exercised 5 days during the week on the treadmill.  I am starting out slow.  I started doing 1 minute of light jogging and 2 minutes of walking for a total of 30 minutes this past week.  Every time I worked out I tried to increase the speed of my jogging a small amount.

This week, I will be doing 1 minute of jogging and 1 minute of walking for 30 minutes.  I will also try to increase speed every time I exercise.

After a few weeks of the treadmill, I would like to expand my workouts to strength training and other cardio type workouts.  Right now, I am happy where I am.

Eating has been difficult at times.  I have good days and bad days but no matter what, I am winning my battles.  One example of that... my department at work keeps candy sitting on a table that I walk by multiple times a day.  I did not eat one piece this week.  This is definitely a victory since one of my favorites is there, BUTTERFINGERS!  I was able to resist the temptation and that is a win in my book.

I will start sharing a day or two during the week of eating.  I'm not perfect and I'm sure some of the foods I choose to eat aren't the best for me.  I'm making changes and I can't expect to change everything from day 1.

This will always be a work in progress as I learn more and start changing small things that will make a big difference.

I'm in this for the long haul.

I'm looking forward to week 2!
